Overview
This artwork is inspired by the "LEGENDARY STORIES OF KALKA TEMPLE" showcasing both the tales (the demolishing demons story and also the pandavas story), connecting both the stories to one resolution which is the Power of Maa Kali.
Most visual storytelling around mythology and temples feels distant, serious, or made only for history lovers. I wanted to solve the emotional disconnect between traditional stories and the women who carry these stories in everyday life, our mothers.
I created a vibrant, playful artwork inspired by the stories and symbolism of Kalkaji Temple, using bold colour like red used to symbolise both anger and power, expressive characters, folk-inspired motif of hand meaning lines of destiny(Kalka Devi is known for controlling time and destiny), and emotional storytelling.
A tiny postcard can hold equal amount of emotions as a big print, of done right.
